In partnership with Alegria de Viver, Quilaban hosted a TALK dedicated to quality longevity and the importance of intergenerationality in organisations, reinforcing its commitment to a more inclusive culture.

Living more years is no longer, in itself, the great challenge of our time. The real challenge is living with quality, autonomy and purpose. It was with this premise that Quilaban promoted, in partnership with Alegria de Viver, a TALK dedicated to quality longevity and combating ageism, a phenomenon that is often invisible but has a real impact on people’s lives and organisational culture.

Portugal faces accelerated demographic ageing. Currently, around 24% of the population is over 65 years old, and projections indicate that by 2050 this figure could reach 33%. Alongside this scenario, more than half a million older people live alone, with unwanted loneliness being a significant risk factor for physical and mental health.

The partnership with Alegria de Viver, an organisation that works to combat unwanted loneliness and promote intergenerationality, enabled the sharing of practical examples of community intervention and reinforced the importance of involving people, companies and institutions in this reflection.

With this initiative, Quilaban reaffirms its conviction that organisations have an active role in building more inclusive societies prepared for demographic challenges. Promoting quality longevity begins with individual attitudes but gains true dimension when it translates into organisational culture and concrete action.
