5 Quilaban specialists are carrying out an accelerated introduction and training program of about 50 diagnostics professionals, in four public hospitals, to use BD MAX technology.
The BD MAX equipment is an automated and fully integrated system, which allows the simultaneous management of up to 24 samples to detect the COVID-19, optimizing the time to obtain results.

This week we signed an agreement for the supply of rapid tests for the diagnostic of SARS-CoV-2 with Residências Montepio. Each of the seven units will receive a kit of rapid tests at this initial stage, with the objective to protect patients and professionals through a timely diagnostic in case of suspected infection.

We are proud to have supplied masks, biological protection coveralls and protective goggles to the Irmãs Hospitaleiras to make sure they are protected against COVID-19.
The Irmãs Hospitaleiras manage several healthcare units in Portugal, namely the Casa de Saúde da Idanha in Sintra and the Psychiatric Clinic São José in Lisbon. Ten of their patients were infected with the new Coronavirus.

The Diagnostics team participated in the 10th NATIONAL CONGRESS OF CLINICAL PATHOLOGY, which took place between the 13th and 15th of February 2020 at the FUNDAÇÃO CUPERTINO DE MIRANDA in Oporto.
This event is one of Portugal’s major exhibitions for exchange of knowledge in the field of clinical diagnostics and as such an excellent opportunity for Quilaban to showcase our solutions as well as to contact with novel solutions presented by competitors and to understand the latest Information on what’s going on in the clinical laboratories of our country.
