At Quilaban, Pink October was more than a colour. It was a moment of awareness, sharing and inspiration, reinforcing that caring is prevention — and that prevention is a true act of strength.
To mark Pink October, Quilaban hosted the roundtable “Breast Cancer: Genetics, Environment and Overcoming”, an event that brought together science, emotion and hope. Moderated by Susana Alves, Chief People Officer, the session featured Dr Marta Amorim, geneticist, and Ana Rita Matos, Chief Financial Officer, who shared her personal experience with remarkable courage, moving everyone present.
The conversation covered prevention, genetic and environmental risk factors, as well as themes of resilience and self-care. The discussion highlighted a powerful message: knowledge is empowering, and speaking openly about breast cancer remains essential to saving lives.
As a symbol of this commitment, every employee received a breast self-examination guide — a simple reminder that taking care of ourselves is the first step in prevention.
